November Rain 2009

November 26, 2009

I dug out some of my old drawings from jr high and highschool.

Schwarzenegger in Us Magazine from 1990. The drawing is from 91.

Robo Cop

Kevin Costner in front of his fridge in Us Magazine 1990. The drawing is from 92.

I think this was inspired from a drawing in an early 90′s issue of Warp Magazine.

Detroit Skyline, 1994.

I just won this guy on ebay! I’m starting a ventriloquism act. I don’t know anyone else in Toronto doing one. Called it!

The Man Who Was Thursday February 1998 Demo cover. Stay tuned for the February 2010, Tim McCready solo album.

I wasn’t allowed to go out much in highschool, so I used to work out a lot. Kind of like they do in prison!

I recorded this last month. I like writing new songs as I record and they’re usually only a minute to a minute and a half long.

I rarely work on my songs longer than 1 session, meaning I never re-record them, but this is a brand new recording of Left Cold, one of the songs on the Man Who Was Thursday 7″ from 1998.

This is testing the different tracks on my Fostex D-80 Digital Multitrack Recorder.

Andy Kaufman

November 20, 2009

Andy Kaufman is my favorite right now. His act was brilliantly retarded and negative, 25+ years later it still mimics Hollywood celebrity media today, in a way that makes me laugh and feel happy.

I picked up this artists’ model yesterday. I’ve always been good at drawing faces and portraits but body proportions are much harder for me. I think this guy is going to help a lot.

I finished reading this book yesterday. It’s good food for thought. I’ve been reading a lot lately. If you’re wondering why I never go out anymore, it’s because I’m at home reading, watching movies, drawing, recording music, making videos or making love to my girlfriend.

I made this little video almost a year ago, on November 24th 2008.

November 24th 2009 is the future date that Freejack takes place in. It was terrible when it came out, but that movie has aged like a fine wine. They should’ve re-released it this year. What a missed opportunity because it might not be as good in 2010. It’s all about timing.

I listened to the new Drake album today. I thought it was going to be sexy love songs because of that single “Best I Ever Had”, but it was a whole album of him bragging about being 23 years old and famous for the past 15 minutes and that he’s going to be the biggest thing ever from now on. Borrringggg, he sounds like a spoiled rich kid. Oh wait… Now I’m listening to Craig David because he delivers on the sexy songs. Is there a sexier album title than “Born To Do It”?

I recorded my own version of Leonard Cohen’s song “It Seems So Long Ago Nancy” today.

Here’s a video of me playing drums in 1998 with Moral Outrage, 3 days before my 20th birthday.
