Ten Dollar Tales Presents: GLOP!

February 25, 2010

Vote for Beckles show on Adult Swim TOTALLY FOR TEENS on Feb 25 and 26 by clicking here. You can watch the full 12 minute episode there too!

Navin Ramaswaran of Splice Productions and Christian Aldo began shooting the newest episode of Ten Dollar Tales, starring Christian and I, at my house on Tuesday night. It premiers at the Revue Cinema on Roncesvalles on March 20th, along with 2 other never-before-seen episodes that are already in the can!

I received 2 more issues of Bananas Magazine in the mail this week! Bananas was a humor magazine for teenagers. Scholastic Press published 72 issues between 1975 and 1984, plus various “Yearbooks” and paperback books. Editor Jovial Bob Stine, later known as R.L. Stine, was responsible for much of the writing.

To the Capital!

February 19, 2010

I’m about to head to Ottawa with Adrienne for the weekend, I’ll be back on Sunday afternoon just in time for the show at Cloak and Dagger. Here’s another song I recorded with Colin and Christian.

the Roncey Boys – Free Man

I went to a Hand Drawn Dracula showcase over the Christmas Holidays. I was supposed to get pictures of all 4 bands, but I forgot to charge my batteries and my camera died after the Holy Cobras.

I went to the Dakota to see Brian and Anna’s new band Fields Of Fur opening for Huron and Ian Blurton on Wednesday night so now I just need to catch another Bishop Morocco and By Divine Right show and I’ll be all caught up!

I picked up these vintage bass strings at the Public Butter yesterday for only $10 a set! Bass strings are usually +$30.

I finally finished binding the Dreamachzines today. All 250 copies are done, only 7 months after the release party! They look great, but what a fucking nightmare. I am never taking on a project like that “for fun” ever again. I can finally sell them to get my money back, get the rest of the contributors their copies who haven’t received one yet and be done with it FOREVER!!!

Outer Space Projector

February 11, 2010

I’m back on my feet again! I hate losing days of my life to being sick.

I received this National Geographic 3-D Outer Space Projector in the mail a couple of weeks ago and finally got batteries for it yesterday. It’s amazing! Pictures soon.

I spent 3 hours recording some more demo songs with Christian Aldo yesterday. I think these are the best ones yet!

Christian Aldo – Fun Loving Guy

Christian Aldo – I Shall Return

And here’s one that we recorded a couple of weeks ago that I hadn’t posted.

Christian Aldo – the Cause

Sean Wainsteim sent me this trailer yesterday for a short movie he directed. Looks pretty scarrrrryyyy…

Maako-ing Love

February 8, 2010

I’ve been sick since the Job’s show at Call The Office on Friday night.

I’ve been nursing myself back to health by cuddling with Maako and watching old episodes of Connections and the Age of Uncertainty.

Hopefully I’ll be better by tomorrow.

Check out Danny Miles playing drums. The guys a MONSTER!

Check out Jason Holinaty’s solo music project Middlesex Wresting Team. If you’re not from Ontario, Middlesex is the County that London, ON is located in.
