Family Day Considers: Rev. Ray and Betty McCready as Icons of Style

It’s the first annual Family Day holiday here in Ontario so in honor of that I thought I’d post some pictures of my dad and my mom that I recently acquired. My dad always had a closet full of suits and ties when I was growing up. When I was 5 years old I thought my dad was the coolest and wanted to style my hair like his. Today, I realize it’s impossible to for anyone to have hair quite like my dads.

These are from 1969, with my dad standing in front of one of the cars from the garage my grandfather owned in Burlington, ON.

Montreal, 1973 ——> Sarnia, 1979

1980, 1986, 1989

These days my dad is known less for his collection of suits and wacky ties, and more for his collection of wacky suspenders.

One of these days I’ll start filling my closet with suits and ties.
