The Past 2 Weeks

The past 2 weeks is the longest stretch I’ve gone without updating my blog in the past 2.5 years.

I got laid off from my job at VICE on Thursday June 4th. Working there has been a great way to spend the past 4.5 years of my life, but it’s a good opportunity to focus on my own projects now.

I’ll be spending my days working from my studio here at 159 Manning. EI should be able to carry me through until I can support myself on my own projects. I’m excited!

I went to Lucas Geronimus’ art show the day before I got laid off, and picked up my new suit that Greg from Szoldier made for me before he moved back to Winnipeg last Sunday. On Tuesday night I went and saw Wayne Petti and a bunch of other bands at the Dakota.

I helped Jon Burford cut hair at Circa last Friday for House of Lords. Cutting hair from my kitchen to the dancefloor!

I finished drawing this t-shirt design for the Reason on Saturday June 6th, and then went to a campfire that night on the beach.

My sister, brother-in-law and my 6-year-old niece Josie came up from Indianapolis. Adrienne took us on a tour of CTV on Tuesday June 10th.

Adrienne and I went to Jon and Tabitha Burfords place for a BBQ on Friday night. It was also their mom’s birthday! Funnnnnn.

I took pictures at This Is London last night for their VAMPIRE night, and then spent all day in the basement of 159 Manning today with Brayden and Dustin recording the Bang Bangs.

Ted was feeling under the weather so he couldn’t be there, but we got 5 songs started that we can record his organ on top of later. It sounds great so far!

[…] The rack-mount I got for free from craigslist last week is a bit to high to stand upright. You can see what the studio used to look like in this post here. […]
