The 159 Manning Choir is getting so good! We’re singing at Function13 this Saturday Dec 4th, at choir member J. Ryan Halpenny’s poster show, in between performances by CATL and the Weirdies.

I think it’ll be fun, but one of the great things about this choir is that performing at events or shows isn’t the goal or purpose. The weekly singings at 159 Manning are both practice and a final product unto themselves. We’re there to sing and have a good time together, and we do! All are welcome. No commitment required, come sing once as a tourist.

The 4 songs we’ve been working on are (47b) Idumea, (159) What Wondrous Love, (332) Sons Of Sorrow and (410) the Dying Californian from the Sacred Harp Songbook. I’ve uploaded a zip file with a beginners instruction sheet, mp3’s and sheet music for all 4 songs here. Please email me if the link is broken and I’ll email the file to you.

We sing every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm at 159 Manning (EXCEPT the 3rd Wed of each month, when we’re at Bloor Street United). It’s free, BYOB.
