I’ve been attending the Sacred Harp singings at Bloor Street United Church that happen the 3rd Wednesday of the month since October. I’ve also been hosting singings at 159 Manning every Wednesday since then (except the 3rd Wed of the month), and led the choir in 5 additional “performances”.
I went to Bloor Street United again last night. There’s so many great singers there, I learn a lot each time, and I’ve greatly improved my vocal-sheet-music sight-reading skills since October. It’s always a highlight of my month.
That said, I will no longer be hosting singings at 159 Manning, and no longer wish to play a managing or leading role in what was known as the 159 Manning Sacred Harp Choir. But there’s GOOD NEWS! Laura-Louise Tobin is taking up the torch and will be hosting from 8:30 to 10pm on Wednesdays at 12 Beatrice Street! Please get in touch with her or Ryan Halpenny for details.
Please, DO NOT get in touch with me for further details or information about the choir. Thanks in advance!
