You Are Driving Me Crazy

Hellllo world. It’s been many months since I posted on this blog. I only made 2 posts last year! I’ve been blogging on and off since 2001, first on livejournal and then switched here to wordpress several years ago. The purpose has always been to document and celebrate life as it is right in front of me. It’s a tool for me to throw a signal out there and see what gets reflected back. Life can get confusing, so it’s necessary to take a step back sometimes, get some perspective and wait for a few storms to pass. In the news, the world seems crazier than ever but my life is fairly calm for the moment so I thought I should give this another go and see how far I get until I have another freak-out or break-down.

159 Manning is quiet and empty. I’m busy growing Good Enough LIVE Karaoke‘s business. I’ve been running 5km almost every day since the end of August. I bought myself a new pair of gold and black running shoes this week after completing 120 runs.

I’ve been playing an average of 2 or 3 shows with Good Enough LIVE Karaoke per week the past 6 months. That’s about 10 hours on stage per week? We’re launching a new Punk themed night, the first Wednesday of every month at Baby G on Wed Feb 1st, featuring a selection of 100 songs to choose from that we’ll play, and YOU can sing (or yell) with us.

Here’s a video of us doing Black Flag – Nervous Breakdown in the basement of 159 Manning last week.

I took this picture of a Coopers Hawk who landed in my backyard yesterday afternoon.

It spent about an hour sitting on top of a pigeon it had killed, before gutting and de-feathering, ripping it to shreds and finally flying off with the carcass. Apparently a hawk is supposed to be an omen of a incoming message, or imminent enlightenment.

I am trying to stay open to enlightenment.

    Hi son,
I enjoyed the pics. The hawk was great. So glad things are a little quite for you. We all need that to step back and absorb. Nice shoes. I hope they are as comfortable as they look. So proud of your accomplishments with GOOD ENOUGH LIVE KAREOKE. I am thankful to be part of your life and adventures. Unconditionally loved always.
